today i was browsing thru random youtube videos and saw one entitled "Atheist Life vs. Religious Life." im always interested in different people's takes on religion and the effects thereof so i watched it. the actual video slightly beside the point, it did get me thinking- if you were going to denounce religion or whatever, why would you stop at Atheism? why not go to something like Ignosticism or Theological Noncognitivism?
ive always felt that atheism is kind of a vague effort and it's annoying. it just comes across as a slap on the face to religion, and nothing more; it's equivalent to an annoying rebellious teenager. "waaaah. i don't like you god, so im gonna go tell everyone there's no way to prove you even exist. that'll show you." atheism merely says "there's no way to prove god exists." fine, decent point. but dont you think that you'd give a bigger beating to religion by saying that because there is no evidence that god exists, the word god or ANY religious language is meaningless. just a thought.
my point is, believe what you want to believe, but do your research first, ESPECIALLY before you go open your trap on youtube.
