health care reform
*rolls eyes at republicans* No shit that this health care reform is going to increase the national deficit temporarily and that the government will be playing more of a role in (funding) health care for american citizens. So what?!! If you had more than a soup can for a head, you would be smart enough to look PAST that and see why its still beneficial to us in the long run, that America will thrive and that you'll have more money in your pocket. somtimes i swear that republicans are virtually incapable of ever seeing the bigger picture.
Let's look at things from an economic viewpoint: First, having a deficit does NOT mean that the government is going to tax you to death. While taxes may slighly increase, you'll still be able to pay your bills and live comfortably. Personal budgets may POSSIBLY need to tighten for a few months, but like I mentioned earlier you will end up with MORE money in your pocket, because: 1) If we have healthcare for 96% of Americans, that will create TONS of new jobs: people with medical training who are currently out of a job can go back to work doing what they do best, secondly there will be more of a need for people to go to college to get a degree in the medical field which puts money back into the economy via paying for college etc, and my most important point- increases American human capital which is vital to America's success. 2) If Americans can have reliable, affordable/accessible healthcare and little or no cost, they will be healthier- and of sounder mind free from worries over health issues- and will likely do better at work or getting through college or starting a new business or whatever, which will boost local/national production and economies which not only helps out every american citizen more, but ups the value of our exports and our dollar, which in the long run paves the way for us to reduce our national deficit (Which by the way, is okay that we have, since we are the most powerful country in the world).
What republicans need to realize, is that YES in order to progress or better ourselves, we have to pay a price. Do you really want to continue on in a slumped economy with outstanding unemployment rates, and virtually none of your fellow citizens able to afford to stay healthy enough to work, and with the rest of the world laughing at us? Or do you want to sacrifice a few dollars in order for Americans to rise up, healthily, to work harder and obtain higher human capital which will give you more money, give America more money, and boost the world economy? Personally, I think it's worth a few extra dollars of my money. Hopefully you do too.
